About

IUT Lumière Lyon 2 offers 12 courses ALL as work-study programmes. This educational establishment of a size that allows for personal interaction, focuses on mentoring and support for students via the PPP programme: Personal and Professional Project. AN ESTABLISHMENT KNOWN FOR ITS STUDENTS’ SUCCESS

In a study carried out at the end 2014 by AEF* using data published by MENESR (Ministry of National Education, Higher Learning and Research), IUT Lumière Lyon 2 was recognised as the French educational establishment providing the “highest added value” for their students’ success in 2-year DUT courses.
Added value refers to the difference between the “real” success rate and the “expected” success rate, based on characteristics of the population.

VAE AND FURTHER EDUCATION: COURSES OPEN TO ALL

IUT Lumière Lyon 2 took the decision to include their courses in the European  framework for Lifelong Learning. All the courses can be taken as further education programmes and are accessible via the VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) programme.
Further education is… the opportunity for an adult in employment or a job-seeker to study for further development, to improve their skills or to change careers.
VAE is… the Validation of Acquired Experience. It allows anyone who is working to request the validation of the experience they have acquired while carrying out their job,
whether paid, unpaid or as a volunteer, in order to acquire a professional qualification, professional credentials or a certificate of vocational qualification.

FRANCE’S IUTS CELEBRATE THEIR 50-YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN 2016

Created in 1966, the aim of University Technological Institutes was to bridge the gap between professional training and universities, while meeting a need for courses that suited local economic development.
50 years later, the success of these courses is undeniable, with over a million students having graduated from the 113 IUT establishments in France since their creation.
